Four moments of a balancing job

In the field or on the bench the order is the same. No step starts before the previous one has a result.

  1. Measure
  2. Separate
  3. Correct
  4. Certify

First, the machine speaks.

Horizontal, vertical and axial vibration at every bearing: overall level, spectrum and 1X phase. Simultaneous sampling keeps inter-channel phase error out of the measurement.

Not every vibration is unbalance.

Misalignment, looseness, resonance and bearing defects leave different signatures. We read the signature before adding any weight; if the problem lies elsewhere, the report says so.

A trial weight gives the influence coefficient. In two planes the matrix passes a Complex SVD condition check, so a weak trial run is caught before it enters the calculation.

    Frequently asked

If your question is not here, use the contact form or ask Sofia AI at the bottom right.

    What is field (on-site) balancing?

Field balancing corrects a rotor dynamically on its own bearings at running speed, without removing it. A portable vibration analyser and a phase reference sensor measure the amplitude and angle of the unbalance; a correction weight is calculated and added to or removed from the right plane.

Which equipment can be balanced in the field?

Fans and exhausters, pumps, electric motors, crushers, mills, separators, decanters, compressors, turbine and generator rotors, spindles and pulleys: almost any rotating machine with an accessible correction plane.

How long does field balancing take?

A typical single-plane fan job usually takes a few hours, depending on access and safe stop-start conditions. For two planes and large rotors the duration is clear after the initial measurement.

Field balancing or a balancing machine?

For fans, crushers and motor-pump sets that are hard and costly to remove, field balancing is faster and more accurate because it corrects the rotor in its real assembly and speed. Removed rotors in manufacturing, overhaul and series production are balanced on hard-bearing balancing machines. We do both.

Can you upgrade our old balancing machine?

On horizontal or vertical machines with a sound frame and bearings we replace the electronics and software: the REI-PRO-04 24-bit simultaneous DAQ board, sensor interface, angle reference and reporting software. The machine brand does not matter; a short inspection decides.

How are reports and certificates verified?

Each document carries a unique number and a QR code. The QR opens the verification page on this site; the number can also be typed in. Validity, revocation and expiry show immediately.

Which standards do your reports follow?

Balance quality is reported against ISO 21940-11 (formerly ISO 1940-1) grades, machine vibration severity against the ISO 20816 / ISO 10816 evaluation zones, and balancing machine acceptance against ISO 21940-21. Customer or manufacturer limits take precedence where they exist.

    Do you work outside Türkiye?

Yes. We plan international visits for field balancing, machine commissioning and DAQ retrofits; balancing machines and controller boards ship with export documentation. Mention the country and plant in the quote form.

Is your machine vibrating? Talk to us before it stops.

Tell us the equipment type, speed and the symptom you see. We will agree the measurement plan, the visit date and, if needed, the machine or controller solution.
